Royal Blue Random Ray CT x Copper DTHMPK
spawned April 28, 2012
-second spawn-
the male is a Random Ray
CT (meaning there are different types of fin rays) but it is mostly
single ray and some double ray...he has a web reduction of around 50%
the female is from a friend of mine who produces Symmetrical
HMPK regularly...she is a fusefin DT with absolutely no sign of a split
I
hope with the web reduction of the male, there will be more web
reduction in the offspring. The prospect of DTCTPK is quite exciting.

I really have a hard time taking pictures because I only have a point and shoot camera

DeleteHello Kiel,
ReplyDeleteno problem. I know this problematic.

Experienced certain problems.
ReplyDeleteFry seems to be smaller than usual. I have difficulty raising them.
Hi Kiel,
DeleteI cross my fingers that you get them strong and that they will grow good. I had the same problem with my surprise spawn, but I got a good protein food.
Greetings
Axel
I resorted to a combination of MW in the morning and BBS in the afternoon
ReplyDeleteMW just to make sure they don't go on empty stomachs
BBS to pump up the protein content in ther diet
Hi KIel,
Deleteoff course that´s a idea. How are your experiences with MW`s? Here in europe I know breeders which feed his fries only with Micro worms (MW), and the whole spawn had no ventral fins.
Greetings
Axel
Hi Axel,
DeleteI only tried MW because the fry are very small. On my other spawns, I use BBS always.
according to my friends, the MW diet gives them all complete fry or a combination of complete and ventralless fry.
In case, if I do get ventralless, I'll just breed them. It's nothing genetic after all. I'm guessing that the ventralless is caused by the MW-triggered ammonia spikes "burning" the fins of the fry.
